The copper is an essential trace element that is found in all body tissues. With the iron, it helps to metabolize hemoglobin food. It fulfills essential functions at the enzymatic level, among other things, as a catalyst for superoxide antioxidant dismutase. In the body, the copper helps produce red blood cells and connective tissues, and it facilitates the use of oxygen in the cells. It has also been discovered that it helps prevent the loss of pigmentation of hair and skin. Non-chelated copper is poorly absorbed by the intestines and must be chelated with amino acids so that the body can use it.
