L’immunité à son meilleur

Immunity at its best

The immune system, our protector

Our immune system is of paramount importance. It plays an extremely decisive role in maintaining our health. It is the one that protects our integrity throughout our lives. It does this by effectively fighting infections of all kinds. It still needs to be adequately maintained.

The immune system is not foolproof!

There are many factors that weaken immunity. Among these, let us note those coming from our food. Junk food, chemical additives and colors, caffeine, sugar and alcohol are the most popular.

There are also a host of unbalancing factors that we come into contact with without thinking about their effects on our health. For example, repeated antibiotics, soft and hard drugs, pesticides and chemical agents from agriculture and smoking.

Our modern society and the lifestyle it leads to can also contribute to the weakening of the immune system. The most common are obesity, anorexia, exposure to mold, electromagnetic waves, second-hand smoke, sedentary lifestyle, overtraining, overwork, nosocomial diseases, chronic illness, chronic stress and insomnia .

Let's not forget that there are also factors over which we don't really have control. Among other things, old age and surgical interventions.

Signs of weakened immune system

They are numerous. Here are a few :

  • scars slower to heal
  • repeat infections
  • new allergies
  • wild fires
  • shingles
  • asthma and weakened lung capacity
  • persistent fatigue
  • swollen lymph nodes
  • tourist on a trip
  • etc.

Contagion vectors

Most public gathering places are vectors of contagion (daycare, school, college, cinema, workplaces, place of worship, hospital, shopping center, restaurant, bar, etc.). Public transportation is also a good place to encounter a variety of germs (metro, buses, planes, cruise ships, etc.). Be aware , however, that our homes can also harbor germs, especially during the winter. Closed windows preventing air change. The heating on dries out the ambient air, and therefore our mucous membranes. Lack of light and sunshine. Cold.

Nature to the rescue, once again!

In addition to the application of the rules of healthy living at least 80%, there is nature which offers us a multitude of active substances, targeted to help us prevent infections and increase our immune effectiveness. I remember three essential ones.

First the probiotics

Nearly 80% of our immune capacity comes from healthy and vigorous intestinal flora. Maison Flora has a complete range of high-quality active probiotics, for all ages, from early childhood to old age. They are composed of a synergy of active strains, specially selected for maximum yield.

Acerola and elderberry

Flora recently launched two innovative, superior quality organic formulas for maintaining strong immunity: acerola, the famous cherry from the West Indies. It is the richest food source of vitamin C. A study published in the medical journal Gerontology showed that vitamin C allows adults to be less affected by colds and flu. The double-blind study concluded that this vitamin is an effective and non-toxic way to improve the immunity of middle-aged people. A single serving of this acerola powder provides 900 mg of vitamin C. This product is also available in a children's formula.

Elderberry in soluble crystals: rich in vitamins A and C and powerful antioxidants (flavonoids, anthocyanosides). They greatly contribute to supporting our immunity in order to prevent or better combat the symptoms of colds, flu, sore throats and inflammation of the respiratory tract.

Good health, naturally!
