The benefits of Epsom salt

What is the point of using Epsom salt in a foot scrub recipe? Couldn't we have used sugar or even coffee instead, as is the case for many other recipes?

We often hear about Epsom salt as being an essential element for a nice relaxing bath. However, Epsom salt is much more versatile. It is an essential asset for your health and well-being. Getting into the habit of using it more often will quickly become very beneficial for you.

What is Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is actually magnesium sulfate. It is therefore a natural mineral compound very rich in, you guessed it, magnesium!

In ancient times, people traveled to where Epsom salt was abundant and used the water in contact with the mineral to relieve certain health conditions. Today, Epsom salt is collected and sold in crystals to enjoy at any time.

How can Epsom salt help you?

Epsom salt is highly bioavailable, meaning it reaches your bloodstream easily and quickly and travel all over your body.

Add a little Epsom salt to your bath, make a spray solution, or apply it as a gel to enjoy its many benefits.

Help you relax

Being a magnesium salt, Epsom salt is widely known to be relaxing. This is also the main reason to use it in your bath! Magnesium is indeed a real asset to help relax your nervous system, but also to help relax your muscles. After a good day of physical exertion or intense sports training, an Epsom salt bath will help you be less sore the next day.

Beneficial for the skin

On its own, Epsom salt moisturizes and helps maintain the elasticity of the skin. In addition, it helps remove dead cells embedded in your skin. It's also an excellent anti-inflammatory, so it helps relieve certain skin conditions.

Helps soothe menstrual pain
