Recipe for giant maple muffins
I had a jar of maple sugar cubes lying around the house and I was wondering what I could use them for. I wanted a comforting recipe that would add a little sweetness and the idea for this maple muffin recipe came to me.
Maple sugar cubes are truly essential for this recipe. Add a decadent touch of sweetness and a delicious crunch!

Ingredients for the giant maple muffin recipe
- 1 C. tbsp ground flaxseed
- 2 ½ tsp. tablespoon of water
- ½ cup applesauce without added sugar
- ¼ cup canola oil
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 C. teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
- ½ cup oatmeal
- 1 C. tablespoon of baking powder
- 1 C. teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp. tablespoons of maple sugar cubes
- Pinch of salt
Preparation for the giant maple muffins recipe
Preheat oven to 350°F. Place 6 cases in muffin molds.
In a small bowl, mix the ground flaxseed and water together. Leave to rest for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, mix flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, maple pieces and salt. To book.
In a large bowl, combine the flax, applesauce, canola oil, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Incorporate the dry ingredients into the liquid preparation, stirring with a spatula.
Divide the dough into the 6 molds and garnish with pieces of maple sugar. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean. Let cool completely on a rack.
