Vegan sloppy Joe recipe
Deliciously messy and drippy, that's the promise of a good sloppy Joe. Sound yummy, doesn't it? In addition to all that, our recipe is vegan!
The good thing about children is that when they eat, they don't care how much of a mess they are making on their face or on their plate. Sometimes even on the ground! If you're a parent, you may also have noticed that the more the meal is appreciated, the bigger the mess will be!
With this vegan sloppy Joe recipe, we invite you to find this little childish side of your personality. After all, it's harder to eat a sloppy joe properly than the opposite. So go ahead, get messy!

Ingredients for the vegan sloppy Joe recipe
- 1 packaging Original veggie ground
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp steak spices
- 4 tsp sugar
- 2/3 cup onion, diced
- 1/3 cup red bell peppers, diced
- 2 tsp red wine vinegar
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 1/3 cup strained tomatoes
- 4 tsp tomato paste
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions for the vegan sloppy Joe recipe
Heat the oil in a saucepan.
Cook the onion and pepper for 5 to 7 minutes.
Add veggie ground, sugar and spices and cook 2 to 3 minutes. Deglaze the pan with the wine vinegar and soy sauce. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pan.
Add the strained tomatoes and the tomato paste and mix well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
Add a generous amount of sloppy joe on the 4 previously opened hamburger buns, grilled or not.
Serve with fries and a side of vegetables, but only if you feel like being good.
