Herbal tea - Licorice

Licorice (root)

Traditionally used in herbal medicine as a expectorant to help relieve respiratory diseases, such as catarrhes, coughs and bronchitis. To help relieve inflammatory digestive tract, such as gastritis in adults.

Medicinal ingredient by tea spoon:

3 g dried root of glycyrrhiza glabra L. (licorice).

Recommended dosage:

Children 4 years:½ teaspoon (1.5 g) per day Children 5 to 9 years old:1 teaspoon (3 g) per day Teenagers 10 to 14 years old:1 teaspoon (3 g), 2 times a day Adults and adolescents 14 years and over:1 teaspoon (3 g), 3 times a day. Take after meals. Macerin in 1 cup of cold water for several hours, after, boiling for at least 15 minutes, filter.

Duration of use:

Consult a health care practitioner if use extends beyond 4 to 6 weeks.
