Among the components of the Curcuma three notable curcuminoids:curcumin (diferulomethane, which gives its characteristic yellow color); Demehoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycumine. Curcuma also contains volatile oils (tumerone, atlanton, and zingiberone), sugars, proteins and resins. This remarkable anti-inflammatory activity finds its application in the context of rheumatoid arthritis.
