Phytoembryotherapy is a branch of phytotherapy that specifically incorporates embryological plant tissues (buds, young shoots, etc.) containing undifferentiated plant meristem cells, which multiply very rapidly and contain the plant's genetic material and portrait. These embryonic tissues are rich in beneficial phytochemicals such as growth factors, plant hormones, enzymes, nucleic acids, trace elements and phytonutrients like polyphenols and flavonoids. These embryological tissues are also used because many of the elements mentioned above are lost in fully developed plants, once the chlorophyll has formed. These embryological tissues are also used because their energetic elements are at their highest when harvested in spring, which is the most active phase of their growth cycle.
