Formerly considered the king of the forest because of its imposing size up to 90 meters, nowadays the white pine can reach, on average, up to 45 meters. He has been dedicated gradually by maple and fir as a result of overexploitation, diseases and pollution. Its longevity is usually around 200 to 400 years thanks to its extreme resistance to decomposition. His main habitat is Eastern North America, Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes to Newfoundland.
