Cascara Sagrada

The Bark of the Cascara Sagrada offers recognized laxative properties. Used fresh, the bark can prove toxic, but dried, it allows to treat the passing constipation. Its use must nevertheless be short-lived so as not to lead to dependency.

Recommended dosage (adults and adolescents 11 years and older):

1 teaspoon (1.5 g) in infusion. Infuse 1 teaspoon in 150 ml of boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes, filter. Allocate 6 to 12 hours in order to be able to see the laxative effects. Take 2 to 3 times a week. If the desired effect is not obtained, take up to 1 dose per day. Do not use during the next 2 hours or after taking medication or health products. Take a single dose at bedtime.

1.5 g dried bark of Rhamnus Purshiana (Cascara Sagrada).

Duration of use:

Consult a health care practitioner if use extends beyond 7 days.

Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsens. Reduce the dose or cease use if you experience abdominal pain, cramps, spasms and / or diarrhea. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use if the bag is not sealed.
