Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) promotes good blood circulation and healthy skin. In the human body, it forms a coenzyme essential to the metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and proteins in all cells. Niacinamide participates in the synthesis of bile salts which are necessary for the digestion of fat and the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients, in addition to regulating the synthesis of hormones such as insulin and thyroxine. The trophic niacinamide does not produce the characteristic vasomotor puffs of niacin.
