In order to produce the 'Black Salt' types, the Himalayan crystal salt is heated and infused with Salsola Stockskii, a type of shrub with a distinctive salty taste and an egg-like aroma which can enhance the richness of savoury meals.

Black salt has antioxidant properties and has surprisingly low sodium levels - making it a healthier alternative to salt for those living with high blood pressure.
