Ingredients for the cheddar-bacon stuffed loaf recipe
- 6 slices of bacon
- 1 loaf of bread of 600 to 700 g
- 4 shallots, chopped
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp thyme, chopped
- 1 tbsp chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- Pepper to taste
- 2 cups L'Ancêtre cheddar, grated
Instructions for the cheddar-bacon stuffed loaf recipe
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a large skillet, cook the bacon slices over low-medium heat, turning occasionally, until crisp. Let sit on absorbent paper. Cut in pieces.
Slice the loaf of bread to form a grid. Do not cut all the way through, the loaf must stay in one piece.
In a bowl, mix the bacon with the shallots, parsley, thyme, garlic and melted butter. Add pepper to taste.
Divide the herb mixture into the slits of the loaf of bread, making sure to insert it as far into the slits as possible. Sprinkle with cheddar.
Place the loaf of bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
Breathe in the delicious aromas while cooking, then enjoy hot.
