Tuna melt sandwich recipe
We're revisiting the neglected classic that is the tuna sandwich. Tasty, rich in protein and good fats, perfect for lunches… with this tuna melt sandwich recipe, it's worth giving a second wind to this neglected meal.
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients for the tuna melt sandwich recipe
- 125ml (1/2 cup) mayonnaise
- 1 celery sprig, chopped
- 2 tuna cans, drained
- 8 slices of bread
- 4 slices of L'Ancêtre organic Swiss cheese
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 1 pickle, chopped
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) softened L'Ancêtre organic butter
- Pepper and salt
Preparation for the tuna melt sandwich recipe
In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, celery, shallot and pickle. Add salt and pepper.
Stir in the tuna.
Butter only one side of the bread slices.
Divide the tuna filling on the unbuttered side of the 4 slices of bread. Then add the Swiss cheese slices. Cover with remaining bread slices, buttered side on the outside.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for about 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
Enjoy with a side of fresh vegetables.
